Food manufacturer Unilever has sold the Conimex brand to the Finnish food company Paulig. The Dutch Conimex is known for its Asian dishes.
Paulig makes many Texan-Mexican products, such as tortillas, pita breads and herbs. The company also has a coffee and sauce branch.
It had been known for some time that Unilever was in the process of selling Conimex. For example, the Reuters news agency previously reported that the company is also looking into whether it can sell Unox.
The manufacturer says it wants to focus on the strongest brands, such as Knorr and Dove. The company previously put its ice cream division on display. No buyer has yet been found for the maker of Ola, Magnum, Hertog and Ben & Jerry’s.
It is not known for what amount Conimex was sold. Unilever expects sales to be completed in April next year.
