Israël violates Stakes-Fires with large-scale attack Gaza, 235 dead reported

The Israeli army has again made heavy attacks in the Gaza Strip. The attacks are the largest violation of the ceasefire since it started two months ago.

The reported deaths vary. Palestinian emergency services report at least one hundred dead and dozens of injuries, writes Reuters. Among the dead would be many children. Local hospitals in the Gaza Strip speak of at least 235 dead. There would also be many victims under the rubble. The attacks are spread throughout the Gaza Strip.

According to the Israeli government, the attacks are a reaction to refusing the release of more hostages by Hamas. “From now on Israel is going to perform with increasing military force against Hamas,” says a statement from the government. Sources at the army also tell Reuters that the new offensive “continues as long as it is necessary and will go beyond air strikes”.

Hamas says that Israel unilaterally ends the ceasefire. The organization also warns that the new attacks will have consequences for the hostages that are still being held in Gaza.

The US government was already informed by Israel on Monday, is in a statement from the White House.

The first phase of the file between Israel and Hamas started on January 19. In that first phase, part of the Israeli hostages had to be released in exchange for imprisoned Palestinians. In the second phase, the remaining hostages would be released and Israel must retire militarily.

Conversations between Israel and Hamas delegations about the second phase were already rough and Israel has carried out several attacks in recent days. Two weeks ago, Israel completely closed the borders, a week ago the electricity was also closed.

For last night’s attacks, the total death toll was at least 150 since the file starts.
