Dutch athlete Omalla auctions its sensational gold medal from Paris

Last summer, Omalla was part of the Oranje Quartet that surprisingly ran to the win in the 4×400 meters mixed in Paris. He was the starting runner with the Dutch team, which further consisted of Femke Bol, Lieke Klaver and Isaya Klein Ikkink. Cathelijn Peeters also helped in the joy. In the series that preceded, she replaced them.

The fact that Omalla ended up at the Games last year was already special. He was, with his twin brother Jaime, born in Zoetermeer. His mother is Dutch. At the age of seven he moved to Uganda, the land of his father. The twins have studied in America in recent years. Eugene Omalla replaced the Dutch record holder in Paris on the 400 meter Liemarvin Bonevacia, who was injured in front of the Olympic Games.
