Blokker is making a new start, the buyer is still unknown

Blokker gets a new owner. The retail chain went bankrupt in mid-November. Since then, the trustees have been looking for a buyer for the household goods stores. It has now been found, the curators report. But they haven’t announced who it is yet.

It is also unknown how many stores will continue to exist. That depends on the negotiations between the new owner and the landlords of the buildings where the Blokker stores are now located. That could take several months.

It is clear that the buyer wants to rebuild the company, together with the franchise entrepreneurs who keep 45 branches running. The new owner will also take over the online store.

The sale that is going on now will continue as usual. Most store employees still have their last day of work on December 31.

Together with various trade organizations, the curators will look for new work for as many of these staff as possible.
