The protesters gathered on Dam Square from the beginning of the afternoon, from where they walked through the city to Museumplein.
Both on Dam Square and Museumplein there were speakers from different organizations, such as Kick Out Zwarte Piet, women against deportation, the Dutch Palestine Comitee, a different Jewish sound and The FNV.
Many protesters focused against the government: “They are not there for all Dutch people”:

Thousands demonstrate against fascism and racism: “Racism is not an opinion”
The organization calculated in advance of around 15,000 people, but it is not yet clear whether so many demonstrators have actually started.
This edition is a lot busier than last year, Stadsmroep AT5 notes. Then there were around 2000 people, a few hundred in 2023.
‘Human rights threatened’
The organization is in the hands of the committee March 21. Amnesty International, among others, is also involved. The committee is concerned about the political developments in our country and states that “the democratic constitutional state, fundamental freedoms and human rights are threatened by the cabinet”.
One of those present told AT5 that this is the time to let you hear. “There is so much going on. The world is on fire and that is why I am here now.”
“Muslims, refugees and other Dutch people with a migration background are used as a scapegoat in a strategy aimed at sowing division and hatred”, can be read on the site From the committee.
The demonstration takes place every year around the world in the context of the International Day against Racism & Discrimination on March 21. In the Netherlands, the 21 March Committee is organizing the demonstration.
Also demonstration against Erdogan
There was also a protest against Turkish President Erdogan in Amsterdam today, on Beursplein. Support was argued there to the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu. He is a big rival of President Erdogan and was arrested on Tuesday with about a hundred others.
